Ancient roads, ancient flavours
Come and discover Asciano, the medieval village surrounded by the Crete Senesi.
By exploring its ancient roads, you’ll know all the flavours that characterized the “Country of kindness”.
You’ll see how from a great tradition of skilled millers, an ancient and genuine grain is cultivated nowadays for a flour and pasta of unique quality.
You’ll meet those who still produce old recipes, thoroughly kept, such as “Panpepato” and “Pane coi Santi” and those who handed them down for generations, as for “Vinpepato”, a drink discovered within an old drugstore.
And between a church and a medieval fountain, you’ll chance upon the truffle-hunting!
